A Home Water Slide can Help You with Your Summer Vacation Budget

by Robin Buckley

Summer is here and when summer comes, kids want to play. One of the most popular summer activities is a trip to the water park since what could be more fun than a water slide on a hot summer day.

Children wait for these long summer days with great anticipation. It is easy to understand why. Cold winters and spring showers leave kids cooped up inside with computer and video games, homework and boredom. Summer means outdoor fun, swimming pools, baseball parks amusement parks and water parks. What could be more fun?

The economy is making it a little difficult for families to afford too many of these types of outings. When you start to add up the expense of getting there plus all of the items you purchase once inside, not to mention the cost of admission, it is easy to see how a family could spend $200.00 a visit.

More and more families are turning to their own backyards for family fun. The economy is forcing people to stay home this summer but that does not mean you have to abandon good old fashion summer fun.

Water parks are a big attraction for kids, and it is entirely possible to turn your back yard into a wonderful water park.

The inflatable water slide has greatly improved since the days of the slip and slide. Today, manufactures of water slides have created large blow-up inflatables and a water slide can now have a large drop down to it, unlike the earlier models that were flat on the ground.

The inflatable water slide comes in all sorts of styles. Some will come with more than one sliding lane. Kids love these types because they can race each other to the finish. The other advantage is that more kids can play at one time.

You can choose from a number of different themes as well. You can choose to slide out of the lion’s mouth, or down from the princess castle. You can slide out of a jungle or race down a speedway. The choices are abundant and they all hook up to the hose.

You do not have to stop at the water slide since some units will come with other play areas attached. You can get them outfitted with a bounce house or an obstacle course, and there are some models that will come with both, bounce house and obstacle course, providing an expanded play area.

Some families are purchasing more than one inflatable water slide and creating a full-featured water park in their own backyard. This has a way of making their children extremely popular in the neighborhood and soon you will see your kids acquire many new friends.

Having your very own bounce house and water slide or even your own water park can be a great alternative to all the money you can squander away this summer at the traditional amusement and water parks.
