Bring On the Polish Sausage - It’s Theme Park Season!
Local theme parks find themselves teeming with thrill seeking families, the scent of suntan lotion, and excited children ever summer. From the very young to the very old alike, people of all ages enjoy visiting theme parks. There are not many places, after all, where one can consume a funnel cake, ride a water log, and take a free fall from voer 100 feet all in the same day.
But what attracts so many people to visit theme parks? One of the best benefits to a theme park vacation is the quantity of entertainment for one easily budgeted price. People are able to do a lot in only one day and even if the meals and trinkets from the souvenirs stands might be a little expensive the overall value of the experience balances out to much less then spending a few nights in a hotel or restore and works out as much cheaper vacation, with the same amount of fun.
The thrill and enjoyment of a theme park is also very unique and alluring. People are naturally drawn to the adventure of thrill seeking rides and attractions. It’s the same reason we watch scary movies and go to the effort of making haunted houses come Halloween. Such adrenaline-ridden activity gets the blood flowing and provides us with a sense of adventure that we all long to experience.
What could be more exciting then a high speed roller coaster with new rides almost every year daring us to brave new heights, new turns and more velocity? The high octane thrill of a tension laden ride as it gradually makes it’s way to the top of a death defying height is unmatched by any other vacation spot.
Even though these super fast rides don’t last very long once you’re on them, they are so exciting that you usually don’t even mind the long wait in line to get on them.
Some theme parks also complete our need for fantasy. Disneyworld is laden with cartoon characters brought to life. MGM Studios lets their ticket holders get glimpses of their favorite movie sets. Epcot Center explores the world of the future. There is even a theme park dedicated to the Hershey chocolate bar.
Other theme parks concentrate on our things far more grand then our vices and virtues. Places like Dollywood in the Smoke Mountains of Eastern Tennessee invite us to learn about and take part in our countries great history and Appalachian heritage. At Dollywood people can enjoy folk crafts and cuisine of the mountain people helping to bring to life a valuable park of American heritage.
Another reason behind the popularity of theme parks is that adults are invited to once again remember what it was like to be a child. It’s not often in the day-to-day life of a hard working person that they are allowed to scream and cheer as they live out the new inventions of the same childhood dreams of thrill, adventure and amazement.
Finally it is important to remember that theme parks are an incredibly good place to build new memories with our families. It’s fun to be in a pace where you can get soaked on a log flume ride one minute and then sit watching your child eat his or her first polish sausage the next. Theme parks often dare us to try new things and we rise to meet that challenge as we laugh and scream together in an all out funfest of light hearted adventure. In a world that is becoming increasingly pressurized and at a time where crises and problems seem like a day to day problem for everyone it’s nice to go somewhere you can relax, enjoy a thrill and remember what it’s like to do something for the shear fun of it.
