How To Write Headlines That Attracts Attention

By far the most vital component to an effective web page or article is a compelling headline. The reason for this of course is that it is the first thing your visitors will see when they hit your page. What follows are some ideas to help you make your headline into a powerful one:

1) Way before you sit down to write your headline, contemplate for an instance on what you want to accomplish with your article or web page. Are you selling something on it or are you just sharing great information you feel your readers will enjoy?

2) What problem are you hoping to help your prospects solve? Keep in mind the only thing your prospects care about when they hit your page is their problem so be detailed as possible when defining the solution you have for them.

3) Write around four to five different headlines based on the above two steps. Then try to find which one of those will best impress a customer. For example, instead of “Introducing Weight Loss Pill…”, you can have a headline like “Lose Weight in 30 days with new weight loss pill”. Other ways will be to arouse the customers curiosity with a topic like “Seven secrets that top internet marketers wont tell you”.

4) Address the user directly (by using the word ‘You’) in your article or sales letter so that it can better connect with the user.

5) Inject words that invoke strong emotions into your headlines. The best way to accomplish this is to empathize with your readers life and current predicament the best you can. As an example try writing a headline such as “Are You Sick Of Chiropractors Who Over Promise And Under Deliver? A headline like that would instantly appeal to a prospect who suffers from back pain.
