New York On A Holiday
Even seasoned travelers are awed by the dazzle of New York. You may have seen every iconic structure and street in Hollywood blockbusters, yet the real thing is even more impressive and never ceases to amaze.
New York is a city on the go - a city that never sleeps. Its bright lights and spirit are undimmed by the events of 9/11 or the recession. A young and articulate new president too has reignited hope.
Whether you are an art, history or music buff, or whether you like clubbing and dining, the city has it all. From grand museums, theatres and galleries, to an array of eating places and parks, there’s plenty to see, do and experience.
The Statue of Liberty is New York’s most iconic structure and no visit to the city is complete without seeing it. Other not to be missed attractions include the Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. If you have the time you should pack in many more sights. Some of its museums are so cavernous that not even a full month is enough to appreciate all the exhibits.
Manhattan impresses with its towering skyscrapers, retail stores, theatres, restaurants, pubs and bars. Everything you can possibly think of is here, including the city’s main attractions.
Some people like to walk around the city, grab a hot dog on the street and absorb the city’s boundless energy. While others go upscale and choose to dine at fancy restaurants and go for gallery openings. In New York you can survive on $50 dollars a day and find that $5,000 are not enough. How you spend your time, and money, will ultimately define your experience of the Big Apple.
The city can be visited any time of the year and people from all over the world flock here even during its hot summers and chilly winters. The reason is that with so many different events taking place in one part of the city or another, there’s never a dull moment. Boredom is never a problem but the sheer amount of activities, including shopping, you indulge in, may leave you feeling a bit tired and, happily, eager for more.
New York is definitely worth visiting - again and again.
